- A NPR story on Dr. Greg Lewbart of North Carolina State College of Veterinary Medicine using a fabric gun (used to tag clothes in department stores) to insert a plastic tag into an oranda with bouyancy issues. After the fish healed, they stuck a cork on the end of the plastic tag and the oranda has a prosthetic and is swimming upright again. That tag came out and later they inserted a Floy tag made specifically for tagging fish. The second tag has held as of early 2006. It will be interesting to see how it does long term.

- A Fish Story - Junior, a 4 1/2 year old Black Moor was presented to the Teaching Hospital at Washington State University for evaluation of a cyst below his eye. It turned out to be "ciliary body adenocarcimona which is a cancer of a glandular tissue in the eye"
