Calculators

  • If you know the dimensions of your tank, this nifty calculator will estimate many gallons it holds, how much lighting, filtration, and heater wattage you need. It appears that the filter flow rate he's recommending is between 4 and 7 times the tank volume per hour (we usually recommend 10 times per hour for goldies).
  • Ammonia Calculator - This calculator will let you calculate how much of the ammonia in your tank is toxic.
  • Baking Soda Calculator - This calculator will let you find out how much baking soda to add to increase KH by a specified ammount and will also estimate how much that will increase pH.
  • CO2 Calculator - This calculator will tell you how much CO2 is dissolved in your water based on your pH and KH.
