Maria (aka bettasngoldfish)

As you may have guessed by my screen name I mainly keep Bettas and Goldfish. I have been keeping fish for about six years now and it all started with a gift of a betta in a vase.

I had always wanted a goldfish as a kid but every time we brought one home that we won from a fair or carnival we would put it in a bowl and sure enough it woud die in a very short time so I gave up.

Several years later and a big thanks to the internet and people willing to share their knowledge and experience I was successful in keeping my first betta and that's when I decided to buy my first "big" tank and get those goldfish I had wanted for so long. I am up to nine cycled tanks now and several smaller 100% water change betta tanks. Of the nine tanks six are goldfish tanks, two are tropical and the other is a cichlid tank.
