I have been keeping turtles since 2001. My turtle hobby quickly expanded, mostly accidentally, into goldfish and freshwater tropical fish. I am currently keeping the following turtle species: Eastern painted turtle, red-eared slider, Eastern box turtle, and common snapping turtle. I also have two goldfish and a tropical planted community tank.

I have a background in neuroscience, and worked with many types of microscopes -- from dissecting scopes to electron microscopes -- and histological techniques. I am currently in veterinary school with aspirations of becoming an exotic/zoo vet, specializing in aquatic animals. At school I work in a fish pathology lab, and everyday I am learning more about diagnosing fish diseases through necropsy.
